About Robin Hoods Bay
Unspoilt by consumerism and concrete, the Bay has changed little since being the smuggling capital of the North East in the 1700's. The narrow winding streets and alleyways conceal many beautiful cottages, some of which date back to the early 15th century.
There are cafes, pubs, local attractions, an excellent beach and many interesting walks (a guide book is provided in The Loft). From Station Waiting Rooms to the Old Village is a 5 minute walk.
The Bay Bank is steep and for those who prefer a lift up (or down), the local taxi service will be happy to oblige. It's a 24 hour service and the Bay Taxis number is 01947 880603.
